![]() ![]() So, we go from that at the beginning to them slowly coming to understand each other and working together, to finally Al-An coming to genuinely care about Robin in he end. I mean the first conversation between Al-An and Robin in the original starts with:Īl-An: You were sent here to harness me. It was also more satisfying that Al-An still cares about Robin after getting a body because his original dialogue was way more alien and there was some uncertainty if he really cared about Robin or was just using her to get a body. ![]() The plot about constructing Al-An a body was still there, but it was more satisfying because, once he gets a body, things suddenly changed from being the underdogs covertly working against Alterra to now having an OP member on the team. Also, the events felt more connected because it was basically Sam, Robin, and Al-An working together to stop Alterra from getting the the Kharaa and Al-An. There was a sense of urgency, mystery, and danger in the old version. At least there is some kind of conflict going on. There are hints that what was going to happen was possibly an outbreak of the Kharaa on the space station, Alterra coming down later to try to capture Al-An, the player needing to destroy the bacteria on the planet, and the player finally escaping with Al-An just as Alterra is closing in. Sam also starts suggesting something is up with Alterra and this new Kharaa bacteria. Meanwhile, the whole thing with Al-An uploading to Robin occurs, except in the original Al-An expresses a desire to kill Robin at first because he doesn't want Alterra to get their hands on his people's technology.Īlterra puts pressure on Sam to find out what Robin found in the ruins with Al-An, but Al-An advises her to lie about him for both of their sakes. Sam tells robin to take a sample of it and send it up to the space station via rocket (in the original version the satellite on the island that Robin has to disable is actually a rocket platform that can send up a rocket with cargo to the space station). It has some new form of Kharaa bacteria growing on it. Robin investigates further and finds the giant leviathan frozen in the ice. She finds his crashed ship on the ice, and also finds another destroyed base. Robin is tasked with finding the fellow scientist. Sam sends down supplies and a small pod base down from the satellite. The storm gets really bad to the point where the base is destroyed and Robin has to flee to safety into the ocean. Robin goes to look for her fellow scientist, but he has already taken a shuttle and flown away to somewhere else. Sam is located in a space station above that is orbiting the planet. ![]() It's been a while since I played it but, if I remember correctly, in in the original story, Robin wakes up in a base during a bad storm. ![]()
